Druskininkai (LTU) to host historic UIPM 2025 Para Tetrathlon World Championships

The UIPM Para Sports movement continues to break new ground with the announcement that the first Para Tetrathlon World Championships will be integrated into the 2025 calendar.

The UIPM 2025 Para Tetrathlon World Championships will form part of the UIPM 2025 Pentathlon U19 World Championships in Druskininkai (LTU) from August 19-22.

Organised in partnership with the Lithuanian Modern Pentathlon Federation (LMPF), the landmark event for Para athletes will create a shared celebration of sport, inclusion and performance.

Athletes in the PMP4 and PMP5 classification categories will compete in Swimming, Laser Run and Obstacle disciplines across two days of exciting competition. All events will follow official UIPM rules and be hosted at the high-quality LSC Sport Complex, featuring an indoor pool, precision laser targets and a purpose-built obstacle course.

Dr Nicola Robinson, Chair of the UIPM Para Pentathlon Commission, said: “The hosting of the first-ever Para World Tetrathlon Championships this summer marks an exciting and important milestone in the growth of the Para Pentathlon movement.

“It is a proud moment to open new pathways for athletes with impairments to compete at the highest level. We are especially grateful to the Local Organising Committee in Lithuania for their commitment and vision in welcoming this historic event alongside the UIPM U19 Pentathlon World Championships.”

The spa resort of Druskininkai will welcome athletes and teams from across the world with warm hospitality and strong environmental values. In line with UIPM’s commitment to sustainability, the Local Organising Committee will plant 1,500 trees to offset the carbon emissions generated by the event.

Delegations are encouraged to register early to secure accommodation in one of the city’s official 4-star hotels. A valid UIPM Para Licence and classification are required to compete, with limited classification opportunities available onsite.
