Rob Stull OLY (USA)

PRESIDENT

Rob Stull has the rare distinction of being a two-sport Olympian, in Modern Pentathlon and Fencing, who competed in four USA teams across three Olympic Games. After retiring as an athlete he served as an Executive Board Member of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), and as Vice Chairman of the USOPC Athletes Commission. From 2016-2024, Rob sat on the UIPM Executive Board as President of the NORCECA Confederation, while also playing the role of Managing Director and CEO of USA Pentathlon Multisport. A recipient of numerous honours, awards and titles, Rob was elected to serve as the 5th President of UIPM during the 73rd UIPM Congress in November 2024.

Kitty Chiller AM OLY (AUS)

VICE-PRESIDENT

Kitty Chiller has been involved with Modern Pentathlon for more than four decades, having started as one of the pioneering female international athletes in 1982. Kitty was a member of the inaugural UIPM Athletes Committee and she competed in the first-ever Olympic Modern Pentathlon event for women in her home Games, Sydney 2000. Having also coached the Australian men’s team at Atlanta 1996, Kitty has continued to spearhead Australian pentathlon since her retirement as an athlete; she was President of the Australian NF from 2008 to 2022 and served as President of the Oceania Confederation from 2017 until her election as UIPM Vice President in 2024. This came one year after she was inaugurated to the UIPM Hall of Fame. Kitty also has a long association with the Olympic movement, having been Media Director for the Australian Olympic Team at Seoul 1988, Deputy Chef de Mission at London 2012 and the first-ever female Chef de Mission at Rio 2016. Kitty has been an Executive Member of the Australian NOC since 2013.

Dongkook Chung (KOR)

VICE-PRESIDENT

Mr Chung was a Korea national team athlete in Fencing from 1980-1982 who went on to coach the national Modern Pentathlon team from 1985 to 1989. He served as Secretary General for the Korea Modern Pentathlon Federation from 1999-2021. Becoming one of Modern Pentathlon’s most recognised international officials, Mr Chung was a member of the UIPM Technical Committee from 2005 to 2024. During his term, he was also appointed as Technical Delegate for the London 2012 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He is currently a Director of Korea Sports & Olympic Committee (KSOC) and Vice Chief of its Jincheon National Training Centre.

Ana Irene Delgado (PAN)

VICE-PRESIDENT

Ana Irene Delgado, Panama’s Ambassador to the Organization of American States, has held numerous distinguished political roles, including Ambassador to the UK and Ireland, Iceland and Norway, and Senator of Panama (2019-2024). As a pentathlete, she was Pan American youth champion and Central American champion, also excelling as a fencer with medals at the Bolivarian and Pan American Games. In sports governance, she served as Vice President of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) and led sustainability and ethics initiatives. A lawyer and economist, Ms Delgado is a partner at Solis, Endara & Delgado who founded an NGO supporting education in Panama and champions legislation fostering private-sector support for sports. President of the Panama Modern Pentathlon Union (UPPM), in 2024 she made history when elected as one of UIPM’s first two female Vice Presidents.

Sharif El Erian OLY (EGY)

VICE-PRESIDENT

Vice President El Erian was a national team athlete and champion for Africa and Egypt in three different sports – Modern Pentathlon, Fencing and Shooting – from 1984-1992. He competed in the Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Modern Pentathlon. He has a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from American University in Cairo, where he is currently the Sports Director. He also has a Masters in Olympic Studies from the International Olympic Academy. Mr El Erian is currently the President of the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation, Secretary General of the Egyptian National Olympic Committee and President of the Egyptian Olympians Association.

Dr Viacheslav Malishev (GEO)

VICE-PRESIDENT 

As a pentathlete, Dr Viacheslav Malishev was a member of the USSR junior team until 1991 and the Georgia team from 2004 to 2009. He holds Master's degrees in Social Psychology and Modern Pentathlon Coaching, as well as a PhD in Sociology. Dr Malishev has a wide range of business interests in fashion distribution and real estate. He has served as President of the Georgian Modern Pentathlon and Triathlon Federation since 2012, on the UIPM Business Committee from 2008-2012, the UIPM Innovation Commission from 2017-2021, and on the Executive Board as Member for Development from 2016-2024. He continues to be a member of the UIPM Sport For All Commission (since 2013) and UIPM TV Commission (since 2021).

Shiny Fang (CHN)

SECRETARY GENERAL

Shiny Fang is a former athlete in synchronised swimming and aerobic gymnastics, head coach, international judge, professor of Sun Yat-Sen University (1999-2006), and chief instructor for a series of educational programs. She has been involved in the sports industry and international relations since 2004, and took part-time responsibility for UIPM International Affairs in 2008. As Vice Competition Manager for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games (2007-2008), and Competition Manager for the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games (2009-2010), she earned “Excellence of the Year”, “Organizing Proficient” and “Young Expert of Administration” awards. She was elected Vice President of the International Cheer Union (2010-2014-2018) and is currently a member of the ASOIF Sports Development and Education Consultative Group.

Helio Meirelles (BRA)

TREASURER

Helio Meirelles was elected to the position of Treasurer in 2024, having held the position of Honorary Auditor since 2008. Mr Meirelles has been involved in Modern Pentathlon since 2003, when he was elected President of the Brazilian Federation for the first time. He graduated in Economics and Chemical Engineering, besides extension courses in Finance and Business. For more than two decades he worked for the large Brazilian oil and energy company, Petrobras, having been elected member of the Board of Directors of the company of its conglomerate, responsible for investments in the petrochemical sector.

Andrea Dell'Amore (ITA)

MEMBER FOR SPORT

Andrea Dell’Amore, a former international Pentathlete, retired at 28 and transitioned to a career in officiating and event organisation. A UIPM International Judge since 2005, he has participated in major global events. Serving on the UIPM Technical Committee (2021–2024) and the Obstacle Discipline Working Group, Andrea helped shape this innovative sport. As an educator in the UIPM Judges Certification Programme (JCP), he is committed to enhancing officiating standards and supporting Modern Pentathlon’s growth while honouring its traditions.

Barry Tompkins (CAN)

MEMBER FOR MARKETING

Barry Tompkins spent several years serving in the Canadian military, deployed in Europe. After leaving the military Barry competed in athletics (800m & 1500m) while attending university, then transitioned to Modern Pentathlon in 1995. While he competed as a pentathlete for a few years, from 1996 Barry also volunteered in projects with UIPM. In varying capacities, both as volunteer and in appointed positions, Barry has worked with UIPM at all Olympic Games since 1996, and in several Pentathlon World Cup Finals and World Championships. Barry developed UIPM’s first iterations of web presence, and introduced UIPM to web broadcasting of major events. He also helped develop early versions of online results systems, and assisted with technical transitions that led to laser shooting. Barry has served two terms in the UIPM Business Affairs Committee (BAC), introducing and assisted with early development of the UIPM Central app. Barry has Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Engineering and Informatics, and is currently Executive VP of a US-based investment company.

Dr Leila Gyenesei OLY (HUN)

MEMBER FOR MEDIA

Dr Gyenesei is a former Winter and Summer Olympian who competed in Cross-Country Skiing at Turin 2006 and in Modern Pentathlon at Beijing 2008. She won Modern Pentathlon relay gold medals at the UIPM World Championships in 2008 and 2011 and European titles in 2010 (relay and team) and 2011. She graduated as a lawyer and communication specialist and holds a qualification as a sports coach. Since 2017, she has been working for Hungarian sports channels as a host, editor and producer and currently presents weekly programmes on the Bundesliga and NFL at Network4 Media Group, while hosting an infotainment programme called Galileo. She is an acclaimed social media content creator and campaign planner.

Jawid Khawar (AFG)

MEMBER FOR DEVELOPMENT

Jawid Khawar is a distinguished sports management professional born in Kabul, Afghanistan. He obtained a Master’s degree in Event Management and Strategic Planning from the University of Peloponnese in Greece, in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Osmania University in India. In 2014, following eight years as a handball athlete, Mr Khawar made a significant career transition from technical engineering to a full-time role in sports management. He has since held key positions in various sports organisations, most notably with the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee, and more recently with the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation, where he played a vital role in promoting and developing the sport.

Sylvestre Zare (BUR)

PRESIDENT OF THE AFRICAN CONFEDERATION

Mr Seidou Sylvestre Zare is President of the Burkina Faso Modern Pentathlon Federation and President of the West African Federations of Modern Pentathlon. He is a former athlete (400m & 800m) and international volleyball player, who went on to coach in both disciplines and work as a regional sports director for more than 25 years. He has been active in Modern Pentathlon since 2012 and served as African Modern Pentathlon Confederation (CAPM) Vice President in charge of Development from 2016 to 2021.

Hanjoon Lee (KOR)

PRESIDENT OF THE ASIAN CONFEDERATION

Mr Hanjoon Lee is President of the Korea Modern Pentathlon Federation (KMPF) and the Asian Modern Pentathlon Confederation (AMPC). He is CEO of Korea Land & Housing Corporation, the largest state-owned enterprise in Korea (a sponsor to both KMPF and AMPC). He is also a Board Member of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC).

Tatiana Ardabyeva (RUS)

PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN CONFEDERATION

Tatiana Ardabyeva was a member of the UIPM Information and Media Committee from 1993 and 2000 the UIPM Culture and Education Commission from 2000. From 2004 to 2021 Mrs Ardabyeva served as Secretary General of the European Confederation of Modern Pentathlon (ECMP), and in 2021 she was elected as President. She has extensive professional experience in sports international relations having been PA to the UIPMB President (1988-1993); Director of International Relations in the Bid Committee Moscow 2012 and Sochi 2014; and Director of International Relations at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games Organising Committee (2007-2009). Since 2011 she has been Secretary General of the Russian Modern Pentathlon Federation.

Jorge Salas OLY (ARG)

PRESIDENT OF THE SOUTH AMERICAN CONFEDERATION

Mr Salas is a UIPM Executive Board Member in his capacity as President of the South America Modern Pentathlon Confederation and the Pan American Modern Pentathlon Confederation. He was an Olympic competitor in Biathlon, founder of the Argentine Modern Pentathlon and Biathlon Federation, and co-founder of the South American Modern Pentathlon Confederation. At present, he is a member of the Argentine Olympic Committee, the Argentine Sports Confederation, and Panathlon Buenos Aires. In the past he also served as President of the Argentina Modern Pentathlon Federation.
