European Confederation of Modern Pentathlon update: April 2025
The European Confederation of Modern Pentathlon (ECMP) started its 2025 season from April 12-14 with the traditional European Cup in Barcelona (ESP) for Junior, U19, U17 and U15 athletes.
This year’s European Cup gathered together 215 athletes from nine countries, signalling an impressive beginning to the season and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle.
This year’s European Championships will comprise all age categories – U15, U17, U19, Junior, U24, Senior and Masters – as well as offering Biathle-Triathle, Laser Run and Para Pentathlon opportunities. The action will visit five different European cities with a long 2025 season concluding in November.
Tatiana Ardabieva, ECMP President, said: “I think every Confederation President wants to be proud of the activity across the continent. The amount of athletes participating in European events and the level of the European Championships are also major priorities and the latter is always my huge concern. We are always in very close contact with the organisers and try our best to meet any challenges that arise.
“I am very happy with the new ECMP Executive Board that was elected in Riyadh during UIPM 2024 Congress. We are like-minded people and permanently communicate on different issues via group chat. They are very helpful and creative. Another important point is that they all are potential organisers of European Championships.
“In my understanding, if all that I mentioned above is put together, success is on our side.”
