Oleg Rybak (UKR) and Soliman Sief (EGY) dominated Group A with 1,544 points apiece, crossing the line together 1sec ahead of Oleksandr Chernyshev (UKR). The best Obstacle time of the day was set in this heat as Platon Iefrimenko of Germany beasted the course in 23s.03sec.

Group C saw a different nation on top of the standings as Dan Vorlieck of Czechia took the spot with 1,538 points, ahead of yet another Ukraine athlete, Maksym Kovalchuk, and Xavier De Lima of Brazil.

Overall, the Final looks set to be a trans-continental affair with athletes from Korea, Japan and United States joining those from Europe, Africa and North/South America who occupied the highest positions in Qualification.
