UIPM Judges Certification Programme: New qualifications for tri-nation judge cohort in Buenos Aires (ARG)
While the winter wind-down may have begun for many in the Northern Hemisphere, their counterparts on the other side of the Equator are making the most of spring conditions.
That group includes a brand new cohort of UIPM judges who joined classmates on a timely UIPM Judges Certification Programme course in Buenos Aires (ARG) in recent weeks.
The gathering was scheduled to coincide with the build-up to the 2025 Pan American / South American Senior and Junior Modern Pentathlon Championships, which were also held in the cosmopolitan capital of Argentina. Offering Levels 1, 2 and 3 certification for the students taking part, the course was run under the expert tutelage of UIPM educator Rafael Acosta (ARG).

The 26 participating students hailed from Argentina, Guatemala and Uruguay with 12 women and 14 men among the group. All completed an online theory portion of the programme, which ran from October 2-23, before they gathered in person in Buenos Aires for a week of on-site theory and practice from October 29 to November 3.
UIPM JCP educator Rafael Acosta (ARG) said: “We have had another successful year of the Judges Certification Programme and I am very pleased to have played a part in one of the final courses of 2025.
“My thanks to this diligent group for their dedication and determination throughout the course. It was a very talented group and I look forward to seeing their judging journeys continue."

Jorge Salas OLY, President of the South American Confederation, said: “My sincere thanks to UIPM and Rafael Acosta for their assistance and dedication to helping another generation of judges during this course. I firmly believe it benefited not only the recent Pan American / South American Championships but also the continued growth of UIPM Sports in Argentina, at a time when we are developing across our confederation.”
