What we do: Meet the UIPM Coaches Committee 2025-2028

UIPM News

Behind every athlete is a coach taking responsibility for every aspect of the high-performance environment that surrounds them.

But who supports the coaches in maintaining their own high standards of performance?

The UIPM Coaches Committee supports the education of coaches and athletes, prepares coaching clinics and seminars, and elaborates proposals on training, sport and other matters of interest to coaches for consideration by the Technical Committee and Executive Board.

Having been chaired by Christian Roudaut (France) since 2016, the Coaches Committee is now under the supervision of Paulius Aleksandravicius (Lithuania), appointed by the UIPM Executive Board and who chaired a meeting of six members in Nice (FRA) ahead of the start of the 2025 season.

The meeting was attended by Yasser Hefny (Egypt), Florence Dinichert (Switzerland), Shen-Hun Liu (Chinese Taipei), Genadijus Sokolovas (United States) and Guillermo Filipi (Argentina). Also newly elected to the Committee are Zhongrong Cao (China) and Kaewruethai Collings (New Zealand).

Paulius Aleksandravicius said: “The UIPM Coaches Committee is a diverse and dynamic group of individuals, representing a wide range of experiences and perspectives within the Modern Pentathlon community.

“I feel fortunate to work with such a talented team, each member bringing valuable expertise that will play a critical role in addressing the challenges and opportunities ahead.

“At our first meeting, we established clear goals for 2025-2028, including updating and enhancing the Coaches Certification Programme (CCP), creating new educational resources such as podcasts and updated coaching materials, and identifying training hubs in developing regions to support athletes and coaches.

“Additionally, we proposed action plans to optimise competition processes and improve the transition to new disciplines, such as the Obstacle discipline.”
