Casse (FRA) and Prasiantsova (BLR) set pace for season in Budapest (HUN)

Many of the world’s leading pentathletes have embarked on their competitive season at the 2018 Peridot Indoor Competition in Budapest (HUN), where 112 athletes from 15 countries took part in qualifying rounds and finals.

Iryna Prasiantsova (BLR) claimed the glory in the women’s final ahead of 17-year-old Michelle Gulyás (HUN) and Gintare Venckauskaite (LTU).

Simon Casse (FRA) won the men’s competition ahead of second-placed Patrick Dogue (GER), with another young local athlete, Balázs Szép (HUN), finishing third.  

Riding was held in the renovated National Horse Riding Hall, Swimming in the pool at Gerevich Aladár National Sports Hall and Laser-Run in the BOK Sports Hall.

The UIPM season begins on February 28 with Pentathlon World Cup I in Cairo (EGY).
