UIPM 2026 Pentathlon U19 World Championships: Daranyi (HUN) is teen queen in Women's Final

Zora Daranyi scored another success for Hungary on the final day of the combined UIPM World Championships in Madrid (ESP), winning the U19 Women's Individual Pentathlon title in impressive fashion.

Daranyi (HUN) backed up the U15 Tetrathlon victory for Nora Kosa (HUN) earlier in the week as she sealed gold by 11sec from silver medallist Charlotte Keister of Germany, with Leah Kocher claiming bronze for Switzerland.

In a field stacked with talents from Pentathlon's new generation, Zora (HUN) started strongly by sharing the top Fencing position with Kocher (SUI), each posting 26 touches. Her team-mate Diana Rajncsak (HUN) then owned the stage with an impressive 27.68sec time in Obstacle Racing. Daranyi (HUN) replenished her overall lead with a Swimming time of 1min 01.43sec, as Victoria Kharichkova (AIN) led the way in 59.08. 

Laser Run was dominated by Keister (GER) who powered into the silver-medal position with a 12:09, but Daranyi (HUN) had enough time on her side to prevail.  

Gold medallist Daranyi (HUN) said: "I am very happy and I wanted to my best the whole day. I was very good in Fencing and Obstacle Racing and also Laser Run, but my Swimming was so good. Not my best, but still enough.

"I want to be proud of myself in all competitions and do my best in the future."
