UIPM 2026 Tetrathlon U15 World Championships kicks off in Madrid (ESP)
The action is underway in Madrid, the capital city of Spain which is hosting the combined UIPM 2026 Pentathlon U19 and Tetrathlon U15 World Championships from August 21-28.
The Tetrathlon U15 competition opened proceedings on August 21-22, challenging athletes over Obstacle Racing, Swimming and Laser Run and testing their ability to compete as a team in the Women's Relay, Men's Relay and Mixed Relay.
The global gathering of teenage athletes kicked off with gold medals for three neutral athlete duos, with Klim Gnedtchik & Aliaksei Karzhavin succeeding in the Men's Relay and Darya Fedarovich & Alisa Kvashneuskaya coming out on top in the Women's Relay, before Gnedtchik and Kvashneuskaya claimed gold in the Mixed Relay. Across the three races there were also two medals apiece for Egypt, Hungary and Poland.

Carlos Jimenez del Castillo, President of the Spanish Modern Pentathlon Federation and head of the local organising committee, said: "The first days of competition at the UIPM U15 & U19 World Championships in Madrid have been truly fantastic.
