UIPM 2026 Tetrathlon U15 World Championships: Pool king Predki (POL) claims Men's title

Swimming sensation Karol Predki of Poland fended off his rivals to claim Men's Individual gold on the final day of the UIPM 2026 Tetrathlon U15 World Championships in Madrid (ESP).

An extraordinary time of 54.41sec in the pool - more than 4sec faster than any other athlete - enabled the tall 13-year-old to build a lead that he defended resolutely in Laser Run under pressure from neutral athlete Klim Gnedtchik (silver) and Eyad Osman of Egypt (bronze).

Obstacle Racing was too tight to call with Gnedtchik (BLR) and Eyad Elsobhky (EGY) dipping under 24.5, but with only 10 Pentathlon points separating the top 10, which included Predki (POL). He then took a colossal lead from the pool to the Laser Run course where even the 10th-fastest time was enough for him to prevail by 6sec over Gnedtchik (AIN), with Osman (EGY) leading a sequence of four Egyptian athletes across the line. They later came together on the podium to celebrate the Team gold (below).

Gold medallist Predki (POL) said: "I can’t believe I am world champion. I am happy that all my hard work paid off. I want to thank everyone: my coach, my family, everyone who supported me on the road towards this medal.

"My best discipline today was Swimming, of course; I even improved it from the Qualification. But what is even more important is that I didn’t shake in shooting and kept my 1st Laser Run starting position until the finish line.

"My next short-term goal is to have the individual gold at the European Championships next month, And my big goal is to go to the Olympics in Brisbane 2032 representing my country Poland."
