AMPC hold first regional training camp of the year in Korea

With the development of athletes in the Asian region continuing at great pace with some impressive results on the international stage, the AMPC held its first training camp of the year in Korea from 3-18 June with over 50 participants taking part.

Four countries were represented this time around with athletes from the Guandong province in China, from Japan, Chiese Taipei and hosts Korea with the camp held at Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps (called Sangmu in Korea) in Mungyeong, Korea, which will also be the venue for the CISM 2015 World Championships.

The training centred around fencing, swimming and also the combined event at the venues in Sangmu, which were just open last year.

In cooperation with Korea Modern Pentathlon(KMPF), the athletes had also the opportunity to ride some top quality horse.

During the camp, all foreign athletes also took part in one of the national competitions hosted by KMPF which was held in Haenam (the southernmost town of Korea, 5 hours away from Seoul), from June 12 to 17.

AMPC Secretary General Mr Choi invited all delegates to the official dinner of the AMPC at the night of 14 June 14th and emphasized mutual cooperation among Asian countries to develop Modern Pentathlon in Asia.

The next camp will be held in July where Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and China will take part.
