South America

It is believed that the Pan American Confederation of Modern Pentathlon was the 1st established structure on the American continent and was funded in 1951 for the 1st Pan American Games in Buenos Aires (Argentina) where Modern Pentathlon was included.

Chile, Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina were the originally most active countries in South America where athletes were coming from the Army.

Since the beginning, the South American Championships and the Pan American Games were much developed and Brazil and Argentina were host countries for Olympic Games.

South America can count on 2 Olympic medals: Yane MARQUES from BRA at London 2012 Olympic Games and Franco SERRANO from ARG at Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

CSPM has currently 11 South American member federations.
