Belarus team for Junior Worlds decided after Open in Minsk

Held last week in the capital Minsk, the Belarus Open Competition decided which athletes would represent the country at next month's Junior Worlds in Drzonkow, Poland. Pavel Schkrob was victorious in the men's event whilst Margarita Maseykovoy took gold in the woman's draw.

Pavel Schkrob was joined in being selected for the Junior World's squad by Dzianis Zeliankevich and Ilya Palazkov who took silver and bronze medals respectively at the Open. The final place went to Kirill Kasyanik.

After he triumph in the women's category, Marharyta Maseikava was the first of four chosen to travel to Poland. She would be joined by bronze winner Tatsiana Rahachova as well as Tatsiana Khaldoba and Volha Silkina. It was decided that the runner-up in Minsk Iryna Prasiantsova would not travel to concentrate on Senior competitions.

As part of the Open championships, Relays and a Mixed Relay were also held  in the Belorussian capital. Winners and prize-winners were awarded with cups, medals and diplomas.
