Modern Pentathlon demonstration in Nanjing before YOG

With preparations for the upcoming Youth Olympic Games this summer in the Chinese city of Nanjing now in their final stages, the local organising committee has been keen to introduce the avrious disciplines to young students in order for them to get acquainted with some of the sports that will feature in the Games.

Last week, 45 students from the Jingling High School were invited to try their hand at the combined run/shoot event, one of the star attractions of the Modern Pentathlon event.

With practical initiation, the students ran and tested their accuracy with laser shooting.

With UIPM staff on hand to assist, even Nanjing Mascot NanjingLele joined in the fun.

The Modenr Pentathlon competition at the Youth Olympic Games will be held from 23-26 August.
