The Afghanistan Pentathlon Federation (APF) held a successful seminar in the capital city of Kabul which resulted in TV coverage on multiple channels.

The seminar, held in the Kabul Paris Hall on January 11, was attended by 138 delegates including leading Afghan pentathletes, coaches and administrators, National Olympic Committee chiefs, officials from other sporting governing bodies, leading businessmen and public officials including representatives from the Vice-President’s office.

The APF outlined its vision for the future of Modern Pentathlon in Afghanistan during the seminar, which was filmed by seven domestic TV channels and subsequently broadcast on news programmes.

Among the contents of the APF presentation were: the history and structure of UIPM and APF, the role of Modern Pentathlon and how it is regulated, Afghanistan’s history in the sport and the APF’s vision and mission and a video about plans for a future Modern Pentathlon stadium.

The seminar also featured the distribution of certificates for 17 elite Afghan pentathletes, coaches and other staff who have helped the athletes develop, and concluded with speeches by the Kabul Governor (about the benefits of sport) and the Chief of the SpecialPolice Force, who spoke about stadium plans.
