Biathle/Triathle

The 2016 UIPM Biathle-Triathle World Championships continued on day two with success for the USA and France in the senior individual Triathle events.

Defending men's champion Alexandre Henrard (FRA) managed to retain his title at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, while Samantha Achterberg (USA) claimed gold in the women's event.

Henrard (FRA) won by a slim margin of five seconds from silver medallist David Ruales (ECU) with Pieter Oosthuizen (RSA) claiming bronze.

Achterberg (USA) was a much more convincing winner of the women's title ahead of compatriot Jessica Davis (USA) in second and bronze medallist Rachel Jones (GBR).

More than 500 athletes from 25 countries have gathered on the west coast of Florida to participate in the championships, with athletes aged from the Youth F category (eight and under) to Masters competing in the two different formats.
