UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Cup Final: All you need to know
Two weeks after an epic round of the Pentathlon World Cup regular season, Budapest once again hosts the cream of the sport as this season’s top 72 performers gather for the UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Cup Final.
The action returns to the BOK Sports Centre in the Puskás Arena complex with Blanka Guzi hoping to bring more glory to Hungary after winning gold medals in Cairo (EGY) and Budapest (HUN). Ilke Ozyuksel of Türkiye won the second round in Pazardzhik (BUL) and headed into the Semi-finals as the highest-seeded fencer.
Many eyes will be on world No.1 and world champion Moutaz Mohamed of Egypt in the men’s event as last year’s winner in Alexandria (EGY) attempts to restore global domination after a mid-season injury. Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medallist Giorgio Malan of Italy will be among those trying to deny him.

As in 2025, Fencing seedings for both the Semi-finals and Finals are determined not by results earned at the competition venue – but according to the UIPM Fencing World Rankings.
In the women’s competition, the top Fencing seeds will be:
- Ilke Ozyuksel (TUR)
- Laura Heredia (ESP)
- Seungmin Seong (KOR)
- Elzbieta Adomaityte (LTU)
Valentin Belaud of France is currently top of the Fencing World Rankings. The final men’s seedings will be announced and added to this page later on June 26.

How it works
Fencing features a quickfire direct elimination format where athletes must win 1min bouts to remain in the competition. The winner of Fencing takes 250 points forward.
Fencing is followed by Obstacle, where two athletes race head-to-head over a 70m course featuring eight obstacles.
Swimming comes next, with a reduction from 200 to 100 metres freestyle introduced in 2026. A time of 1min 10sec results in a score of 250 points, with each 0.2sec quicker or slower resulting in one point more or less.
The total points accumulated in the first three disciplines is used to calculate the starting positions in Laser Run, which has also been subject to a change in format. Athletes now visit the shooting range five times rather than four, meaning the Laser Run begins with a shoot rather than a formation lap. The running distance remains the same (5 x 600m), and the first athlete to cross the line wins. A time of 13min 20sec results in 500 points, with each second faster or slower resulting in one point more or less.
