UIPM Coaches Certification Programme: Productive 2025 rounded off in Bogota (COL) and Beirut (LBN)

UIPM News

A prolifically productive year of development and growth in UIPM coaching ended on a fitting note as two regions of focus finished 2025 with a flourish.

In the Colombian capital city of Bogota, a huge cohort went through a week-long UIPM Coaches Certification Course with 31 participants either beginning or continuing their coaching journeys.

Under the tutelage of UIPM instructor Guillermo Filipi (ARG), the group which included 10 female students and 21 males, drilled down into all aspects of coaching from November 25-29.

South America has another busy year on deck in the coming year, kicking off with the continental U19, U17 and U15 championships in Brazil in April before the 2026 South and Pan American Championships in Peru this summer.

UIPM CCP instructor Guillermo Filipi (ARG) said: “It was so pleasing to help another big, motivated group of new and emerging coaches on their journey in Bogota. We know how vital coaches are to our sports and ahead of an important time in the region it was great to see the passion and focus during this course. My thanks to the students, UIPM and the organisers for this important week.”

Meanwhile as the Middle East continues to see huge engagement and increased interest in UIPM sports there is another wave of coaches ready to meet the moment — thanks to the help of a former World Champion.

Yasser Hefny (EGY) was on hand late last month to lead a group of 24 coaches through a busy and fruitful week of CCP study, practice and assessment in the Lebanese capital of Beirut.

A group of 9 women and 15 men drilled down into the key aspects of modern coaching under Hefny’s guidance over the space of five days from December 23-27. This follows another successful CCP course which took place in Kuwait in mid-2025.

UIPM CCP instructor Yasser Hefny (EGY) said: “It has been a really busy and enjoyable year in the Middle East region and it’s nice to continue making those strides right up to the end of 2025. Lebanon has continued to play its part and we recently saw senior Lebanese athletes breaking through to the podium at the UIPM 2025 Laser Run World Championships. Growing the country’s coaching base is vital to continuing that success. I’m very proud to have helped this great group develop and expand their skills.”
