Charles Fernandez attends IOC Athlete Career Programme workshop

One of our 2016 Olympians, Charles Fernandez of Guatemala, took time out of his Rio preparations to attend a two-day Outreach Workshop given by the International Olympic Committee’s Athlete Career Programme (ACP) in Lausanne (SWI).

This is a pilot program aimed at increasing awareness of the career options available to Olympic athletes when their competitive days come to an end.  

Fernandez attended on behalf of the Guatemala MP federation and reported that it was an extremely useful workshop. The ACP has created a syllabus for international federations called “Train the Trainer” so that they can pass on the learning to their own athletes.
