Modern Pentathlon

Bence Demeter (HUN) enjoyed some encouraging early-season success at the two-day Peridot Indoor Competition in his home capital city of Budapest.

Demeter (HUN) capitalised on home advantage to win gold ahead of silver medallist Simon Casse (FRA) and his own compatriot Istvan Malits (HUN), who claimed bronze.

Two Hungarians made the podium in the women’s event, but it was Iryna Prasiantsova (BLR) who took the top spot on the podium. Sarolta Kovacs, the 2016 world champion, was runner-up and Anna Zs Toth came third.

The competition attracted 68 male and 34 female participants.
