‘An immense honour’ – Joel Bouzou OLY on Peace and Sport winning Nobel award

Fifteen years after it was founded by UIPM Vice President Joel Bouzou OLY, Peace and Sport has been awarded the 2022 Peace Summit Award by Nobel Peace Laureates.

The Award was accepted by Vice President Bouzou, who is President of Peace and Sport as well as the World Olympians Association, during the 18th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Pyeongchang (KOR).

Joel Bouzou OLY said: “It is an immense honour to receive this 2022 Peace Summit Award. I would like to thank the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates Committee for the great recognition it has given to the approach we have chosen 15 years ago: contributing to a more inclusive and peaceful world through sport.”

Kailash Satyarthi, 2014 Nobel Peace Laureate, added: “Peace and Sport has built a growing international community of peace through sport change makers worldwide, composed of political decision-makers, peace leaders, civil societies, NGOs, athletes and sport institutions, with great achievements.”
