One of pentathlon’s rising stars has been recognized for his remarkable success in 2018 with a prestigious international award.

Ahmed Elgendy of Egypt, UIPM 2018 world champion at Youth and Junior level and gold medallist at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires (ARG), was named Best Junior Male Athlete at the UIPM 2018 Annual Awards in November in Limassol (CYP).

Now Elgendy, 18, has become the recipient of a Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award after the judging panel recognized his “outstanding success in sports”.

The “MBR Awards” originate from the United Arab Emirates and serve to honour athletes in recognition of their outstanding achievements and support efforts made to develop the sports sector.

Elgendy (EGY) joined many other international sports stars, such as Liverpool FC and Egypt footballer Mo Salah, in being recognised this year.
