UIPM 2023 U17 World Championships: Fencing Ranking Round

The UIPM 2023 U17 World Championships continued today as the Fencing Ranking Round kicked off the Women’s and Men’s Individual Finals in Alexandria (EGY).

Nadja Farmand of Germany was the standout performer from either gender, claiming an exceptional 30 victories with only five defeats to take a 20-point lead into Super Saturday. She was followed by team-mates Hannah Dicks (GER, 26V/9D) and Amelie Treib (GER) who tied with Farida Khalil of Egypt on 24V/11D.

On the men’s side, Jacob Li of Canada was the king of the piste with 26 victories giving him pole position ahead of local athletes Mohamed Hassan (EGY) and Sief Soliman (EGY), on 24V/11D.

The UIPM 2023 U17 World Championships reaches a climax on Saturday, July 15 as the first-ever world champions in the new Modern Pentathlon are confirmed. The Mixed Relay then closes the competition on July 16.
