UIPM Coaches Certification Programme: Almost 30 coaches embark on coaching journey in Jakarta (INA)

UIPM News

An introduction to UIPM’s Coaches Certification Programme (CCP) enabled 28 Indonesian Modern Pentathlon coaches to get their first qualification.

The latest Level 1 CCP course took place in Jakarta (INA) from May 14-20, coordinated by UIPM Level 4 coach Nilton Rolim (BRA). The island archipelago will host the postponed 2023 Asian Games and the UIPM 2023 Biathle-Triathle World Championships.

Thanks to funding from Olympic Solidarity, the coaches also attended a week-long training clinic designed to help coaches explore improvement opportunities for athletes in each of the Modern Pentathlon disciplines.

UIPM Coaches Committee Chairman Christian Roudaut said: “It was wonderful to hear about the success of the Level 1 course in Indonesia, which enabled 28 coaches to gain a qualification through expert tuition and also to refine their coaching techniques on the ground and Modern Pentathlon development strategy via a training clinic.

“I would like to thank Nilton and everybody involved in this successful introductory course, and we are grateful for the support from Olympic Solidarity.”

Like all CCP courses, coaches will earn their Level 1 qualification when they conclude the syllabus by completing e-learning courses covering anti-doping and harassment prevention.
