UIPM News

The development of the UIPM Sports movement in Georgia has continued with coaches taking their first step on the ladder of Coaching Certification Programme (CCP).

A five-day course held in the capital, Tbilisi, was attended by 16 coaches to gain their Level 1 qualification.

The course, held from April 22-26, was overseen by UIPM Instructor Alexei Vasilianov of Moldova, himself a Level 3 coach.

Georgia has hosted numerous UIPM competitions in recent years, including the Biathle/Triathle World Championships, the Global Laser Run City Tour, the Biathle/Triathle National Tour and the European Cup Under 19/Under 17, as well as UIPM Congress in 2017.

Viacheslav Malishev, UIPM Executive Board Member for Development and President of the Modern Pentathlon Federation of Georgia, added: “It is very important that we educate our coaches to enable them to harness the development of pentathletes in Georgia.

“I am very pleased to see the successful outcome of the Level 1 CCP course, which comes in the wake of Georgia’s first Judges Certification Programme course, in Tbilisi in January 2019.

“Numerous UIPM competitions and events have been hosted in Georgia and there is a high appetite in our country for educational opportunities.”
