As the first E of the UIPM 5 E strategy (Education, Equipment, Empowerment, Expansion, and Evolution) stands for Education, we are very glad to announce a scholarship application process initiated by Olympic Solidarity for:

  • The Women in Sport High Performance Pathway (WISH Programme)

Olympic Solidarity states: “The WISH Programme has been developed in cooperation with the IOC/Olympic Solidarity, ASOIF, AIOWF and several International Federations already engaged in projects to increase opportunities and pathways for high performance women coaches.”

A 21 months online programme potentially starts with the first cohort in May 2022 with a residential week in the UK from August 14-20 2022, and the second cohort in August 2022 with a residential week in the UK from October 23-29 2022 (the exact dates will be confirmed later) For the winner of the candidates, a support funding worth 3,500 USD from UIPM will be available, and 11,000 USD from Olympic Solidarity.

Applicant must:

  1. Be recognised by their International Federation, National Federation and their National Olympic Committee as being a part of, or having the potential to be a part of a national delegation to the major competitions.
  2. Be identified by UIPM.
  3. Be able to integrate, or are already integrated into national programmes that are in pathway to qualify athletes for the Regional and/or Continental Games, YOG, World Championships and Olympics at the World or Continental/Regional events or via the Tripartite system.
  4. Have no history of anti-doping violation, safeguarding violation, manipulation of competition or other ethics violation.
  5. Be able to commit to the whole programme.
  6. Have good written and spoken English (min IELTS 6.5).

The application must include:

  • Applicant’s full name.
  • Background (education, participation in major events, plans and goals).
  • Preference for May 2022 or August 2022 cohorts.
  • Contacts.

UIPM Coaches Committee Chair Christian Roudaut (FRA) said: “On behalf of the UIPM Coaches Committee I am delighted to support this educational opportunity for women coaches. The course will open a wide range of possibilities for coaches who have already achieved great results in our sport or those that have the potential to become one of our elite coaches.”

All applications to the WISH Programme must be submitted by a UIPM National Federation (NF) by March 22, 2022.
