Apply now for your Athlete Certificate with World Academy of Sports

Youth athletes from member federations of UIPM have been invited to apply for an online qualification from the World Academy of Sports (WAoS).

The WAoS Athlete Certificate has been made available for the second consecutive year, along with the Online Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) to which applications have already closed.

The Athlete Certificate is designed for youth athletes aged between 15 and 18 and takes four and a half hours to complete, aiming to provide “the tools needed for young people to become successful and knowledgeable athletes”.

Students can complete the course at their own pace and the syllabus includes five modules:

• Support team and relationships
• Values and integrity in sport
• Health and wellbeing (including mental health)
• Social media and the media
• Your journey as an athlete.

Up to 100 places are available to each National Federation that takes up the opportunity, and in the first year more than 1200 athletes from across the sporting community took the course with an average satisfaction rate of 8.3 / 10.

The provision of educational opportunities with WAoS is part of UIPM’s commitment to the athletes through the Athletes Centered Programme (ACP). WAoS offers a fully online educational pathway from high school to Postgraduate education.
