Global Laser-Run City Tour 2018: Perfect fit with European City of Sport in Braga (POR)

Laser Run

The Portuguese city of Braga has the honour of being a European City of Sport throughout 2018 so it was fitting that one of the world’s most progressive global sporting circuits paid a visit on July 15.

It was the third of four Global Laser-Run City Tours held in Portugal in 2018, and almost 100 people took part in nine age categories ranging from under-11 to over-50, racing around the historic city centre and testing their running and laser-shooting abilities.

A spokesperson for the local organizing committee said: “It was wonderful that our event could be included in the programme of Braga European City of Sport 2018, and the Global Laser-Run City Tour was held with great enthusiasm and great competitiveness.”

The final GLRCT in Portugal in 2018, after visits were paid to Abrantes, Alenquer and Braga, will be in Amadora on September 23.

The UIPM Global Laser-Run City Tour was created in 2017 to deliver an exciting, dynamic and fun competition to participants of all ages and offer them an entry point to UIPM Sports.

The Global LRCT took place in parks, stadiums and iconic urban venues in 60 cities around the world in 2017, with more than 15,000 participants. There are about 100 events scheduled in 2018.

Laser-Run is a development sport of UIPM but aspiring athletes of all ages also have the chance to compete for global titles at the UIPM Laser-Run World Championships, which are taking place in Dublin (IRL) on September 28-30, 2018.
