Happy birthday Mr President: special wishes for Dr Klaus Schormann as he turns 75

Members of the UIPM Executive Board have created a chorus of congratulations for UIPM’s long-serving President, Dr Klaus Schormann, on the occasion of his 75th birthday (July 17, 2021).

Dr Schormann, from Germany, has been President of UIPM since 1993, after a five-year spell as Vice President for Marketing and Public Relations. Between 1994 and 1996 he was President of the umbrella governing body, UIPMB (Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne et Biathlon).

Having led the global Modern Pentathlon community through six Olympic Games (Atlanta 1996 - Rio 2016), with a seventh about to begin in Tokyo (JPN) in 2021, he was inaugurated to the UIPM Hall of Fame in 2018.

As he celebrates his birthday at home with his wife Karin, the following tributes were paid to the UIPM President by Members of the Executive Board:

I have known Klaus for some time having competed in Modern Pentathlon at the same time in the late 1960s. In all this time his passion for the sport has never ceased.
