Prestigious Ministry of Defence Cup to begin in Moscow tomorrow

One of the most prestigious international events of the Modern Pentathlon calendar will get underway tomorrow in the Russian capital Moscow as the very elite battle it out for the $50,000 prize money on offer.

A huge commercial success, this competition is unlike any others, it is just a Mixed Relay. Proving once more how inclusive the sport is where men and women line-up side by side in pairs to represent their country.

Live on NTV-Plus in Russia, the event has proved a big hit for fans and hugely in demand amongst viewers on TV.

Italy, Hungary, Germany, Lithuania, Kazakhstan and hosts Russia will all be taking part with eyes firmly set on claiming one of the sport’s biggest prizes.

The onus will be on the Russian team to take victory here with a crowd of expectant fans all cheering on for their compatriots. Last year, Sergei Karyakin and Donata Rimsaite brought home the winner's trophy.
