Sharif Elerian and Aya Medany OLY elected to Egypt NOC Executive Board

Two members of the thriving Modern Pentathlon community in Egypt have been elected to roles on the Executive Board of the Egyptian National Olympic Committee (NOC).

Sharif Elerian, who is also Vice-President of UIPM and President of the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation (EMPF), was re-elected unanimously as Secretary General of the NOC.

Aya Medany OLY, three-time Olympian in Modern Pentathlon and former Chair of the UIPM Athletes Committee, was elected as a Member of the NOC Executive Board in her capacity as Chair of the NOC’s own Athletes Committee.

The elections were held during the NOC’s recent Electoral General Assembly and the two Modern Pentathlon representatives – a first for the EMPF – make up one-seventh of the 14-strong Executive Board.
