UIPM News

The Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) has welcomed its improved score in the ASOIF’s Fourth Review of International Federation (IF) Governance and committed to building on the strong progress it has made in good governance.

The review, which was conducted by the ASOIF Governance Taskforce, revealed that UIPM has made improvements across numerous key areas including transparency and integrity.

UIPM was also identified as an example of good practice in areas such as:

  • Summary of meeting decisions
  • Election campaigning rules
  • Eligibility rules
  • Social responsibility activity
  • Open tendering

The improved score puts UIPM at the top end of Group B and the organisation is committed to making further improvements in its governance.

UIPM President Dr Klaus Schormann said: “We are happy to see that the progress we have made in good governance has been recognised by ASOIF and reflected in our improved score. We also know there is room for improvement and we are committed to implementing the highest standards in governance and transparency.

“We will study this review carefully and in particular the areas for improvement so that we can build on our progress and make sure we are delivering the highest standards for our athletes, national federations and the entire UIPM family.”
