Held in the Moldovan capital Chisinau earlier this month, the Olympic Festival saw thousands of kids take to the streets of the city centre all dressed with a white t-shirt to celebrate sports and the Olympic movement. Organised by the National Olympic and Sport Committee and the Republic of Moldova, 12 sports were demonstrated in the main square with Modern Pentathlon proving to be one of the most popular.

Great Britain’s Kate French is looking forward to competing at her first Modern Pentathlon World Cup Final in Sarasota, Florida on Friday 6 June.
French said she’s looking forward to the competition, although her focus this year is on the European and World Championships. “I'm really pleased and excited to compete at my first World Cup Final,” she said. “We’re in a hard training block at the moment because the European and World Championships are our main aims this year. This will be a good warm-up and I’d be happy with a good, solid performance.”
Last week saw the Namibian National Biathle Championships take place at the Municipal swimming pool in Walvis Bay. A fast and furious competition, 15 athletes ensured their qualification to the South African Championships which will be held in Durban at the end of June. Many of these will then be hoping to make the cut for the Biathle Triathle World Championships in Guatemala this October.

The Masters pentathletes showed again the prowess in five disciplines as they competed in Neuss, in Western Germany, last month in the 2014 NRW Masters. Two age categories, six draws, and a whole lot of fun for the competitors.
