UIPM 2025 Tetrathlon U15 World Championships: Egypt start strongly in Relays; medals for Japan, Guatemala, Türkiye and Mexico

Tetrathlon

Host nation Egypt dominated the opening day of the UIPM 2025 Tetrathlon U15 World Championships with success in the Women’s Relay and Men’s Relay.

In the morning, Nour Ramadan (EGY) and Ghazl Mahmoud (EGY) won the Women’s Relay by 74sec from silver medallists Japan, represented by Mizuki Hoshi and Minami Yamakawa. Bronze was claimed by Guatemala duo Agustina Rosales Ogaldez and Sarah Bhor Lopez.

The challenge of Mexico fell apart in Obstacle, where they were eliminated. Quetzali Lara and Grecia Alejandre responded to the setback by scorching the Laser Run course for a best time of 9min 49.93sec.

Japan (Hoshi/Yamakawa) achieved the best Swimming time but there was no denying Egypt (Ramadan/Mahmoud) their success after a day of strong performances starting with an outstanding 1:12.65 on Obstacle.

In the afternoon, Adam Salem (EGY) and Mohanad Khadir (EGY) controlled the competition across all four disciplines to claim gold by exactly 1min from Türkiye duo Serhan Efe Ucari and Mehmet Doruk Ozkan, who won the race for silver against Mexico (Andres Hernandez and Diego Castillo).

Exceptional on Obstacle with a lightning combined time of 49.42sec, the hosts also topped the Swimming standings (54.36) and even managed the best Laser Run time of 8:41.16, narrowly faster than the Turks’ 8:45.43 and the Mexicans’ 8:52.53.
