In combats of men relay teams the French with 6.190 points proved to be most dominant (Geoffrey Megi, Valentin Belaud and Valentin Prade). Runner-up was Czech men relay team (Jan Kuf, Ondrej Polivka and Michal Sedlecky- 6150 pts.) while the Brits took bronze medals (James Cook, Joseph Evans i Samuel Curry – 6.112 pts.). The Poles can consider their starts to be completely unlucky.
The Cubans were in indomitable form in the scenic Dominican city of Santo Domigo as their athletes put in a string of fantastic performances to win all three categories in this level 2 competition, with gold medals in both the individual men and women competitions as well as in the mixed relay.
Their promise and expert coaching set-up was in evidence right from the start of the event, showing an intelligence in their play and a quality work ethic in each discipline to shine throughout the competition.

The Hungarians dominate in men
The last day of the Senior European Modern Pentathlon Championships, Drzonków 2013 has just finished. Today was the men's turn to compete and the individual winner was Adam Marosi (Hungary). The silver medal was collected by Robert Kasza (Hungary) and the bronze by Aleksander Lesun (Russia) who finished third at combined event. The Poles were 13th - Bartosz Majewski and 25th - Szymon Sta?kiewicz. The best teams were Hungary (gold), France (silver) and Italy (bronze)
After starting the day by sharing top spot in the fence after 24 winning bouts, Hungary’s World No.1 Adam Marosi was the man in charge in the European Championships Final as the 28-year never relinquished his lead all day as he crossed the combined event finish line first to take gold and the title of European Champion.
He started in blistering form, great with the epée, he took 976 points on the pistes, just like Ukraine’s Dmytro Kirpulianskyi to take first place after the first event of the day.
David Svoboda (CZE) has become the Olympic champion in the 100 year anniversary of Modern Pentathlon in the Olympic Games.
The elated former world #1 stated after: “It’s an amazing feeling. I was thinking I could be on the top this morning - actually since my childhood - so it is the best moment in my sporting career. It was the best crowd I’ve ever seen so it was very nice.”
The 47th UIPM Junior World Championships (21 and under), the finale of the Junior circuit, it set to take place 3-9 September 2012 in Drzonkow, Poland.
