The 2nd World University Modern Pentathlon Championship will be held in Vila Real, Portugal, in 2020.
The event will be hosted by the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and the award of the championship follows an evaluation process carried out by FISU, which governs world university sports.

The Rio 2016 Olympic Modern Pentathlon champion, Chloe Esposito (AUS), has been named as a Young Change Maker for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires (ARG).
Esposito was chosen by the Australian Olympic Committee as one of 13 senior Olympians from around the world who will support YOG participants from their country during their first Olympic Games experience.
Six modern pentathletes from Egypt have been honoured for their achievements in 2017 by the Egyptian President of State, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The Lesun Club, according to the proprietor, “will promote not only Modern Pentathlon but also its sub-sports such as Biathle, Triathle and Laser-Run”, and membership will be open to all ages.
Lesun (RUS) added: “The goal is to have athletes in the club who will be participating in national and international competitions at all levels in Modern Pentathlon.”
