The great sporting city of Melbourne last weekend hosted the Australian Team Selection Trial #2 as the country’s top pentathletes continued their journey towards the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
This competition was the second selection round for Australian pentathletes to go to the Oceania/Asia Olympic qualifying event, to be held in Beijing in June. Brisbane had held the first selection round in December.
UIPM Executive Board has the pleasure to announce that the 1st UIPM Laser-Run World Championships has been appointed to France in 2015.
The Laser-Run is the latest original creation and individual competition of UIPM, coming from the Combined Event and launched in 2010 as the last part of full Modern Pentathlon. Athletes of all ages from 8 to 80 can participate and the competition can be staged on beaches, in cities and in the countryside.
Registration for the 2015 World Modern Pentathlon Coaches Conference is now open. The conference takes place from 6-8 November 2015 in Manchester, England, and many renowned speakers are expected to attend this final gathering before Rio 2016. The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Qatar Modern Pentathlon Federation (QMPF) have signed an agreement with the International Federation of Modern Pentathlon (UIPM) to host the 2015, 2016 and 2017 editions of the Champion of Champions event.
The agreement was signed by H.E. Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Secretary General of the QOC, Mr. Fahad Saad Al Qahtani, President of the QMPF and Dr. Klaus Schormann, President of the UIPM.
