Great Britain claimed their second gold medal of UIPM 2021 Pentathlon World Cup Budapest as Olivia Green and Joseph Choong held their nerve to win an intriguing Mixed Relay.
Colonel Helmut Hornof, who supported the Modern Pentathlon movement for more than 50 years, died on March 10 aged 84.
As a sports teacher at the Bundesrealgymnasium from 1965 to 1994, Helmut Hornof coached aspiring pentathletes and supervised trips to competitions at home and abroad.
Like every other aspect of the UIPM Sports movement, the highly successful Global Laser Run City Tour had to be paused for the past 12 months due to measures imposed to tackle the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
However, in the early stages of 2021, the Tour has resumed with the first instalments taking place in safe and secure conditions in Egypt and New Zealand.

MONACO: April 2, 2021 – Twenty-two prominent members of the global UIPM Sports community have been confirmed as eligible candidates to sit on the UIPM Athletes Committee and UIPM Coaches Committee for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games cycle.
Elections will take place in Cairo (EGY) during the UIPM 2021 Pentathlon and Laser Run World Championships in June 2021 – where athletes and coaches will have the opportunity to vote for members of their applicable committees.
05.03.2021: Interview with German broadcast transmitter
UIPM President Dr Klaus Schormann gave an interview to RaDar, a German broadcast station. They spoke about matters relating to the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games hosted in 2021, including the difficulties of finding good training conditions to be prepared for the Olympic qualification competitions.

Modern Pentathlon was created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin and introduced to the Olympic Games in 1912; UIPM was established in 1948. Since then, pentathletes and more and more people from our global community have demonstrated their integrity, loyalty and diligence for the sport.
