Three countries shared the spoils on an epic Super Saturday as an electrifying UIPM 2025 Pentathlon World Cup Budapest came to a close.
The European Confederation of Modern Pentathlon (ECMP) started its 2025 season from April 12-14 with the traditional European Cup in Barcelona (ESP) for Junior, U19, U17 and U15 athletes.
This year’s European Cup gathered together 215 athletes from nine countries, signalling an impressive beginning to the season and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle.
Fresh from an unforgettable 2024 that saw him crowned as Egypt’s only Olympic champion at the Paris 2024 Games, Ahmed Elgendy has been elected to lead the newly formed Athletes Committee of the Egyptian Olympic Committee.
Elgendy (EGY) said on social media that he had won the election by acclamation having earned the support of 22 voting members. Azmi Mahlaba (shooting) and Nouran Gohar (squash) will be the First and Second Deputy Presidents respectively.
