With Egypt stepping in to host the UIPM 2021 Pentathlon and Laser Run World Championships – a competition which has been relocated twice, due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic – we all have an opportunity to show the world once again that we can endure this crisis by working and standing together.
05.05.2021: New format task force meeting
UIPM President Dr Klaus Schormann joined fellow members of the task force appointed in December 2020 online for a follow-up meeting about the new Olympic Games Modern Pentathlon format designed for Paris 2024.
They discussed the experience of all three test events based on feedback from athletes, coaches and organisers and formed proposals for the UIPM Technical Committee and UIPM Executive Board. The task force members summarised that the reflection of athletes and coaches had been very positive.

Alexander Lifanov and Maxim Kuznetsov (RMPF) prevailed in a tight Men’s Relay to win gold on the second day of the UIPM 2021 Pentathlon and Laser Run World Championships.

The Executive Board of the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) has voted to reschedule the UIPM 2021 Youth World Championships (U19/U17).
The competition, which had been due to take place in Alexandria (EGY) in July, has been moved to September 13-19.
The UIPM 2021 Pentathlon and Laser Run World Championships continued today with 68 athletes taking part in qualification for the Women's Individual Final in Modern Pentathlon.
Among the successful qualifiers were London 2012 Olympic champion Laura Asadauskaite of Lithuania, Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist Elodie Clouvel of France and Beijing 2008 bronze medallist Anastasiya Prokopenko of Belarus.

Television viewers in 160 countries will have the opportunity to watch the world’s most versatile athletes compete in the UIPM 2021 Pentathlon World Championships in Cairo (EGY) from June 12-14.
The Women’s Individual and Men’s Individual Finals (on Saturday and Sunday respectively) will see 72 athletes aiming to seize their last chance to qualify for the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The Mixed Relay closes the competition on Monday.
The UIPM 2021 Pentathlon and Laser Run World Championships continued today with 81 athletes taking part in qualification for the Men's Individual Final in Modern Pentathlon.
The three top-ranked athletes in the world were among the successful qualifiers – Valentin Prades and Valentin Belaud of France and Woongtae Jun of Korea, who will be joined in Sunday’s Final by team-mates Jinhwa Jung and Changwan Seo.
