The 2026 season got off to a captivating start in Egypt’s historic capital as the Women’s Qualification kicked the UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Cup Cairo into instant high gear.

The 2025 world gold and bronze medallists, Moutaz Mohamed of Egypt and Matej Lukes of Czechia, made a strong start to the new season as they won their Semi-finals at UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Cup Cairo.
Blanka Guzi of Hungary upstaged her Olympic champion team-mate to win the opening gold medal of the season, coming from behind to win the Women’s Final at UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Cup Cairo.
Guzi (HUN) adapted best to the new Pentathlon format to take her gold-medal collection to three following success in Budapest (HUN) in 2023 and Sofia (BUL) in 2024. The sport now features a shorter 100m swim and an additional shoot in Laser Run, where Guzi (HUN) set a new world record of 10min 54.93sec as well as a new overall high of 1,488 points.
Having proved unbeatable for much of last season, Moutaz Mohamed motored home to deliver more glory on home soil for Egypt in the Men’s Final at UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Cup Cairo.
The 2025 world champion started Laser Run with a 19sec deficit to the athlete who won silver in Kaunas (LTU) last August, but they ended up in the same podium positions after another blistering Laser Run from the world No.1.
