UIPM President Dr Schormann attended the virtual Congress of the European Modern Pentathlon Confederation, which took place in Nizhny Novgorod (RUS) during the European Championships (due to travel restrictions, he was not able to attend in person).
A new EMPC Executive Board was elected with Tatiana Ardabyeva, who has successfully managed EMPC activities very well for many years as Secretary General, elected as President.
The new military world champions are Gulnaz Gubaydullina of Russia and Bence Demeter of Hungary – and they had to overcome a lot of quality opposition to claim the individual crowns.
On day three of the CISM 2021 Military World Championships in Drzonkow (POL), Demeter (HUN) made up for the disappointment of his non-selection for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games by keeping his nerve to claim gold in a tense finale.

UIPM President Dr Klaus Schormann was present in Athens for days of celebrations leading up to the Pierre de Coubertin Pentathlon Day.
On September 7th, Dr Schormann attended an event called “The Journey of the Pentathlon and Olympic Values: from Antiquity to today”. The event took place in the Olympic Center Goudi, in Athens with 200 guests in attendance and a coverage on national television.

A week of the next generation of Modern Pentathlon stars rising to the top got off to the perfect start for the host nation as Egypt took U19 Men’s Relay gold on the opening day of the UIPM 2021 Youth World Championships (U19 and U17) in Alexandria.

Anything the men can do…the women can do just as spectacularly. Egypt took gold on the second day of the UIPM 2021 Youth World Championships (U19 and U17) as Malak Ismail and Amira Kandil combined brilliantly to take the U19 Women’s Relay title on home soil.

The UIPM 2021 Youth World Championships (U19 and U17) passed the halfway mark with a spectacular sprint for U17 Men’s glory which saw Botond Tamas claim a first gold medal of the Championships for Hungary in Alexandria (EGY).
