Kuisung Choi, a Laser Run pioneer who spearheaded the development of Modern Pentathlon in Asia, died on April 29, 2025 aged 83.

The Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) has announced the 72 athletes from 23 countries across all six continents who will compete in the UIPM 2025 Pentathlon World Cup Final (July 4-6).
I previously wrote about the incredible job done by Hungary in showcasing the ‘art of the possible’ by hosting and promoting an indoor Pentathlon. We will see another example of this in August when Kaunas, Lithuania hosts the UIPM 2025 Pentathlon World Championships in Europe’s second-biggest basketball arena.
Around 200 athletes from 33 countries are currently assembling in the Pentathlon heartland of Szekesfehervar, Hungary for the annual gathering of the world’s best Under 22s.

The UIPM 2025 Pentathlon Junior World Championships began in Székesfehérvár (HUN) today with teenage sensation Farida Khalil of Egypt breaking yet another world record.
There were a total of 78 athletes split into three groups attempting to grab one of Friday’s 36 semi-final places.
